What You'll Find
At LRBC you can expect to find friendly people worshiping Jesus and interacting with one another in a casual environment. We have Sunday service at 10:00 AM that lasts about an hour and twenty minutes. Our services begin with a time of singing and prayer. We then dedicate our time to an expository study of the Bible.
Some History
In May of 1994 the American Missionary Fellowship’s area representative, Robert McDawall, came to the Seven Bays, WA area and found the need and desire for a church here. Win Self was building the community center with a vision that it would be available for church services.
Warren Damschen was approached to minister to this area and he accepted. Lake Roosevelt Bible Church was formed and provided a place for praise and worship with an emphasis on the teaching of God’s word.
The first service was held outdoors at the Seven Bays Community Park. Warren Damschen continued to pastor until January 23, 2014 when he went to be with the Lord. In January of 2015 Andrew (Drew) Johnson began to pastor the church and continued until September of 2016. In May of 2017 pastor Mark Smith and his wife Marcia took over the pastorate of Lake Roosevelt Bible Church.
Services continued to be held in the Helen Marie Community Center until December of 2017. The church moved to the Deer Meadows fire station in February of 2018 and in February of 2020 we moved into our new building.
Our Church supports a number of foreign and state side missionaries. Please see our Missions page for more information on our missionary partnerships.
Lake Roosevelt Bible Church holds to the traditional tenets of orthodox Christianity. In essence these tenets boil down to two simple responsibilities for Christians: (1) to love the Lord your God with everything you are and (2) to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39).
As a church we endeavor to embody the teachings of Jesus Christ by recognizing the entire Bible as inerrant and infallible, and in turn obeying the word of God as an outworking of our faith in Christ. In keeping with this belief, we make it our goal to examine all of Scripture through the expository teaching of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16,17).
We also identify with the orthodox teachings of Christians throughout history who have given their lives for the sake of Christ. We identify with these Christians through our common Lord, Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We believe that it is the final authority, is without error, and is applicable for our daily lives.
(2 Tim 3:16)
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in God as creator and sustainer of all things. We believe that God is eternal, holy, and loving.
(Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19)
We believe that man was created in the image of God and was designed to be in loving relationship with God. We believe that because of man’s sinful disobedience, mankind was separated from the loving intimacy that God intended. We believe that mankind’s greatest and deepest need is to be forgiven of sin and restored back into right relationship with God and thus fulfill his ultimate purpose which is to worship God and fully enjoy Him forever.
(Genesis 1:26-30; Genesis 2:7; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:9)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and second member of the trinity. We believe that Jesus willingly came into our world as fully man, while continuing to be fully God. We believe that Jesus lived a completely sinless life on our behalf, died a sinners death in our place, physically rose from the dead declaring victory over sin and death, and ascended to heaven where He is currently seated at the right hand of God as our advocate and intercessor.
(Luke 1:35; Matthew 3:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Luke 24:46-47; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 12:2)
We believe that salvation comes through the repentance of our sins and by believing upon the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus’ sinless life makes us righteous before God and His substitutionary death removes all our sin. We believe that salvation cannot be earned or purchased and can only be received as a free gift from God.
(Romans 5:1; 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit enters the life of a person when they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is essential for and evidence of a person’s salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts for serving one another and empowers believers to live holy and effective lives for the glory of God.
(John 16:8-11; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9; 1 Peter 4:10)
We believe that the church consists of those who believe upon Jesus as Lord and Savior. We believe that the church is one body with many members, unified through faith in Jesus. We believe that the church is called to gather together regularly for fellowship, teaching, prayer, and communion. We believe that the church exists to continue the work of Jesus by declaring the gospel, making disciples, and demonstrating God's love to the world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 20:28; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:27)
We believe that people were created with both body and soul. We believe that after the body dies, the soul of a person continues on into eternity. We believe that heaven is the eternal destination for all people who have placed their faith and hope in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that a literal hell is the eternal destination for those who have rejected Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the day is coming when Jesus will judge both the living and the dead.
